‘To be the best that you can be’

Our Christian School

We are really proud of our school. The children at St Lawrence’s are kind, polite and can be relied upon to always try their best. The staff, parents and governors are tremendously supportive and everyone works really well together as a team. We have three mixed aged classes with a dedicated team of enthusiastic teachers.

Our mission statement "To be the best that you can be" sums up the Christian ethos at St Lawrence’s. It is our belief that the commitment and enthusiasm of the staff in both enjoying and supporting our children to realise this aim is key. If we have high expectations the children will aspire to great things whatever their talents may be. We enjoy excellent links with St Lawrence Church whilst at the same time benefiting from regular visits from our lovely vicar.

We are federated with Priddy School and both schools work closely to provide an exciting, full and rich curriculum for the children in our care.

Our Christian School

We are very proud of our Church school which has a strong church distinctiveness providing a unique benefit to the local community.

The children in Holly class have researched the origins of the school and its relationship with the church

This term we have been investigating the following Christian values:

Our Hope Tree:

The children are writing their hopes for themselves; their friends; families and people around the world on leaves that are added to our hope tree.

The Christian values form the basis of our behaviour and reward procedures. Children learn about the Christian background to these values through RE lessons and whole school collective worship.

Children behave well and respect and value being a part of our school community.

There are strong links with the school and St Lawrence’s church. We visit the church regularly and share festivals and celebrations with parents and the village community. Rev Paula always gives a blessing at our services and she regularly comes into assembly to share bible stories and talk with us. She is a valued part of our family!
