Priddy - PTA And Friends

Priddy School PTA and Friends

The Priddy Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) and Friends is a registered charity. Its purpose is to raise funds that will directly support Priddy Primary School in its curriculum enrichment activities and purchase of educational materials.

The primary role of the PTA is to directly benefit the school through fundraising activities as well as providing the pupils of the school with extra curricula opportunities.

The PTA also provides a forum for discussion between parents and teachers to aid effective communication and feedback between the school and its associates.

We meet around once every half term to discuss and organize any upcoming fundraising events, new ideas for fundraising ideas and funding requests from the school.

Some of the events we have organized include Bingo, Spring Fair, Green Cow Folk Festival, Horse racing and many other events (some where we share organization effort and profits with our local Pre-school).

We also arrange events to help the school and its pupils in other ways, such as Christmas dinner, Leavers party and Christmas disco.

All the money we raise goes directly back into supporting essential projects within the school. Recently, we have helped provide additional funds for the minibus, bought new mathematics resources for KS2, and subsidized all coach trips. We have also bought fluorescent safety tabards for KS1, donated money so we could get a federation sports kit, helped provide essential forest school resources, £5,000 on new reading resources for KS1.

We would welcome new members /supporters to join the PPATAF who may be able to help us with the events we hold throughout the year. You do not have to make a huge commitment, just do what you can; it all helps and is much appreciated! We have already started planning this years cooking for the Green Cow, which is our main fundraiser for the year. So if you have some time over the festival weekend or prior to help cook then let one of the committee know!

Involvement with the PTA is a great way to meet new people, as well as having some involvement with school activities.

We hold our annual general meeting in the first half term of the school year and will send out a reminder in September. Should you want further information in the meantime, please contact any of the committee
