School Minibuses

As a Federation, we own two Citroen Relay 17-seater minibuses which have adjustable height safety belts on each seat.

The minibus is primarily for transporting children to school, who live in either Priddy or Westbury-Sub-Mendip, where they are educated on the site not in their home village.

We are very willing to accommodate any children attending our schools, regardless of where they live, if we have spare seats.

We offer the minibus free of charge to all families.

Booking forms to request a place on the minibus are sent out termly.

DRIVERS & CHAPERONES

All our drivers are employed by the federation. They have all passed the Somerset Council minibus-driving test, which is renewed every 4 years, as well a having a current DBS.

When we are transporting children, we aim to always have a chaperone travelling on the bus to ensure seat-belts are correctly fastened, and that children are safe and happy. Chaperones are a mix of staff and parent volunteers, all of whom have a recent DBS with the federation.

RISK ASSESSMENTS

We have a current risk assessment in place for travelling on the minibus. Please ask the school office for a copy if you would like to see this.

The minibuses form part of the Somerset Council vehicle fleet and are safety checked at an approved commercial vehicle garage at regular intervals throughout the year. Additionally, the minibuses are subject to daily safety check.  Each minibus carries a first aid kit and has the relevant transport signage.
