OPAL – Outdoor Play and Learning

Here at Priddy and St. Lawrence's, we are committed to ensuring quality play opportunities are available to all our children. We believe that play is essential for physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual development of each child. Most of our best childhood memories are from playing outdoors, climbing trees and exploring the wide world around us. OPAL gives us the opportunity to give those memories to your children. OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) is all about using naturally and man made resources to allow children to be inspired and creative at playtime.

OPAL Policy

Our OPAL journey is well underway and we have been able to dramatically improve our lunchtimes!  Staff comment on a daily basis how enjoyable lunchtimes are and how lovely it is to see the children engaged with play.

How can you support OPAL? 

OPAL is all weather play. Please ensure children are dressed appropriate for the season. Wellies and waterproof trousers are essential for them to access the full play offer.

We need your help... 
Our OPAL Team are looking for the following items: 

• Small world items ( dinosaurs, figures, cars, farmyard animals etc…)
• Pots, pans and kitchen utensils.
• We still need some bigger items especially crates

School is always open between 8am – 4pm if you have anything to drop off.
